* It is with sadness that I take over the job of Conference Chair of ECAI06 left so abruptly by Rob Milne. Rob died on Mount Everest on Sunday, 5th June 2005. He was not only a colleague, but also a dear friend. I remember his enthusiasm for new challenges and how he had immediately taken an active role in the ECAI06 organization. All of us in the ECAI06 organization are grateful for his contribution.
